EARLY COMPLETION OF TEACHERS' QUARTERS RELECTS MADANI GOVT'S COMMITMENT - NANTA

MUKAH, April 25 (Bernama) -- Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi praised the early completion of the teachers' quarters and facilities at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Agama Igan, on Dec 30, a year ahead of schedule, highlighting the implementing team's and local contractors' commitment to the MADANI Government's aspirations.

“This demonstrates the high efficiency and commitment of the implementing team and local contractors in realising the aspirations of the MADANI Government. We want an AOT - ahead of time - approach, not EOT - extension of time," he said.

He said this at the handover of the additional construction project of 17 units of teachers’ quarters and other facilities at the school, today.

The RM16.39 million project is a collaboration between the Ministry of Education and the Public Works Department, through the Special Project Team 2 (PPK2), and was originally scheduled for completion on Dec 30 this year.

The project scope encompassed the construction of 17 units of Class F teachers' quarters, along with the installation of water supply and drainage systems, electrical and ICT services, as well as covered and open parking areas. Additionally, outdoor infrastructure and other essential support facilities were incorporated, to improve the overall school environment.

During the same ceremony, Nanta also presented a contribution of RM10,000 to the SMK Agama Igan Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), aimed at further supporting the school community's development.

"These facilities and contributions are expected to provide greater comfort to educators and foster a more conducive learning environment for Sarawak's children," he said.
