MAKKAH, May 5 (Bernama) -- A total of 5,256 Malaysian pilgrims for the 1446H/2025M Hajj season have safely arrived in the Holy Land, in staggered arrivals in the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah since the first flight on April 29.

Malaysian Hajj delegation head Mohd Hisham Harun said 4,419 pilgrims are still in Madinah, while 837 pilgrims have entered Makkah in phases since Sunday.

“So far, 19 Malaysian hajj flights have safely landed at the Prince Mohammad bin Abdul Aziz International Airport in Madinah, out of a total of 100 flights scheduled for this year’s hajj season.

“Of these, 47 flights are scheduled to arrive in Madinah, while the remaining 53 flights will land in Jeddah, with pilgrims continuing their journey directly into the holy city of Makkah,” he said in a press conference at the Tabung Haji headquarters, here, on Monday.

Mohd Hisham said 837 Malaysian pilgrims in three groups, KT1, KT2, and KT3, have arrived in Makkah on Sunday after spending six days in Madinah.

“The movement of pilgrims from Madinah to Makkah began yesterday, involving three groups; KT1, comprising 253 pilgrims staying at Abraj Al Janadiriyah Hotel; KT2, with 328 pilgrims staying at Land Premiere Hotel; and KT3, with 256 pilgrims at Abraj Tayseer Hotel.

“Today, three more groups are scheduled to travel from Madinah to Makkah in stages, according to the pre-arranged movement schedule,” he said.

He said all pilgrims had completed their first umrah (minor pilgrimage) in stages, led by a mutawif (religious guide) and Tabung Haji staff.

At the same time, Mohd Hisham reported that so far, only one Malaysian pilgrim has been admitted to a treatment centre in Madinah, and the pilgrim’s condition is stable.

“We are just waiting for a suitable time to bring the pilgrim to Makkah to perform umrah.

“Overall, the health of all pilgrims is in good condition. So to the families back home, there is no need to worry, as Tabung Haji has a capable medical team to provide treatment and health advice to the pilgrims,” he added.
