PUTRAJAYA, May 8 (Bernama) -- Malaysia is following with growing concern the rapid escalation in tensions between India and Pakistan and stresses the need for calm and dialogue, the Malaysian Foreign Ministry said on Thursday.
“We urge both sides to exercise maximum restraint and restore channels of communication. However tense the moment, diplomacy remains the surest path away from crisis,” the ministry, widely known as Wisma Putra, said in a statement.
According to Wisma Putra, Malaysia reiterates Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s call for a full and thorough investigation into the April 22 attack in Pahalgam, with a view to bringing any remaining perpetrators to justice.
It added that Malaysia reaffirms its support for all efforts aimed at de-escalation and meaningful dialogue between India and Pakistan.
