KUALA LUMPUR, May 19 (Bernama) -- A Malaysian Haj pilgrim who arrived in the holy land to perform the Haj, passed away this morning due to a heart attack said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na'im Mokhtar.
Mohd Na'im said the pilgrim, Abdullah Mat, 59, from Pasir Mas, Kelantan, passed away at the Jiwar Hospital in Jabal Qamar, Makkah.
"May his soul be blessed and placed among the righteous in the highest place in paradise. Al-Fatihah," he said in a Facebook posting.
Mohd Na’im said Abdullah was from the Maktab 89A group who were staying at the Abraj al Janadriyah Hotel and throughout the pilgrimage, the late Abdullah was accompanied by his wife Sarifah Hassan.
He added that Tabung Haji will manage the implementation of the badal haji (substitute pilgrimage) for the deceased and complete all related matters to the best of their ability.
