BUTTERWORTH, Sept 28 (Bernama) -- The Ministry of Finance (MOF) is working with the Road Transport Department (RTD) to urgently resolve technical issues related to the eligibility checking of BUDI MADANI RON95 (BUDI95) programme before it is officially implemented on Sept 30.
Deputy Finance Minister Lim Hui Ying said this was due to her ministry receiving several complaints from the public claiming that they were not listed as eligible recipients despite having a valid driving licence and MyKad.
She said that although these were isolated cases because they only involved a few individuals, her party still took the matter seriously and assured that the problem would be resolved before the full implementation of BUDI95 this Tuesday.
“Yesterday, we did receive several complaints saying that they had a valid licence and MyKad, but were found to be ineligible. The ministry is currently discussing with RTD and we will resolve this technical issue as soon as possible before Sept 30,” she told reporters after inspecting the implementation of BUDI95 involving recipients of the Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) at a petrol station on Jalan Raja Uda here, today.
She therefore urged the public to immediately check their eligibility profile on the website https://www.budimadani.gov.my/, and for those who encounter problems, they are asked to file a complaint to enable immediate investigation and further action.
Lim said that apart from the complaint service centre, the public can also contact the hotline 1300-88-9595 by providing relevant information such as name, identity card number and valid driving licence for verification and follow-up action.
“Here I would like to emphasise that as long as the individual is an eligible Malaysian, they are 100 per cent entitled to enjoy the benefits of BUDI95. There may be slight delays or technical glitches here and there, but we will ensure that these issues are resolved as soon as possible,” she said.
Meanwhile, ahead of the full implementation of BUDI95 on Sept 30, she advised the public to remain calm and make purchases as usual.
Lim explained that there is no need to rush because each eligible individual had been set a limit of 300 litres per month and purchases could be made at any time during the period according to their needs.
Earlier, she informed that the implementation of BUDI95 involving STR recipients as the second group to enjoy the initiative starting today was proceeding smoothly nationwide without any complaints received from users.
“Indeed, everything is ready. We have already tried various methods, namely the Setel (Petronas) application, cash and the Touch ‘n Go e-wallet and everything went smoothly.
The MOF said that since Sept 25, a total of 8.1 million users have checked their eligibility via the official website www.budimadani.gov.my, thus showing a very encouraging response from the people.
