KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 29 (Bernama) -- The 2025 Gansu Qingyang Qihuang Cultural Forum convened on Sept 27, bringing together top traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) scholars from across the country to explore the inheritance and innovation of TCM culture.
Held in Qingyang, the legendary birthplace of Qibo and origin of the monograph The Yellow Emperor’s Inner Canon, the forum highlighted the city’s deep roots in Chinese medical history and its modern drive to promote cultural and scientific advancement in TCM.
Known as the "Hometown of Qihuang", Qingyang is a nationally recognised hub for TCM education and culture. The region boasts 527 wild medicinal herb species, including 69 listed in the National Pharmacopoeia and 25 used in export-grade products.
Qingyang continues to lead in TCM promotion through initiatives like the Qihuang Lecture Hall and the "AI+TCM Industry Ecology Conference", establishing itself as a nexus of tradition and innovation in the field, according to a statement.
With strong academic engagement and a growing international profile, the Qihuang Cultural Forum cements Qingyang’s status as a cornerstone of China’s TCM heritage and its evolving future.
