SHAH ALAM, Oct 2 (Bernama) -- The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, has consented to bestow the First-Class Royal Order of Seri Paduka Mahkota Selangor (S.P.M.S.) on Cik Afzaa Fadini Abdul Aziz, following her solemnisation of marriage with the Raja Muda of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah, today.
The conferment carries the title of Datin Paduka Seri.
The Sultan of Selangor’s private secretary, Datuk Mohamad Munir Bani, in a statement, said the royal nikah ceremony took place at Masjid Istana Diraja, Istana Alam Shah, Klang, near here.
“Accordingly, the official title of the consort to His Royal Highness the Raja Muda of Selangor is Yang Mulia Datin Paduka Seri Afzaa Fadini Datuk Abdul Aziz,” he said.
Earlier, Tengku Amir Shah was escorted in a royal vehicle for 650 metres from the Sultan Abdul Aziz Royal Gallery to Istana Alam Shah as part of the royal nikah ceremony, witnessed by thousands of people who gathered to celebrate the special day.
The akad nikah ceremony was held privately.
Previously, Mohamad Munir Bani announced in a statement that the Royal Bersanding Ceremony and Royal Banquet would be held at the Balairung Seri and Royal Banquet Hall of Istana Alam Shah on Oct 22.
