MAIPS CALLS ON INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY TO ENSURE GSF AID REACHES GAZA

KANGAR, Oct 2 (Bernama) -- The Perlis Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPs) has called on the international community, regardless of race, religion, or nationality, to do their utmost to ensure the humanitarian aid delivered through the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) reaches the people of Palestine.

MAIPs president, the Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, said it is wholly unacceptable for volunteers carrying humanitarian aid to be detained or obstructed from carrying out their mission.

“What is even more distressing is if they are subjected to mistreatment. Such actions, if true, clearly violate universal humanitarian values and fundamental human rights,” he said in a statement issued by MAIPs today.

Tuanku Syed Faizuddin further urged Muslims, especially the people of Perlis, to continue offering prayers, perform good deeds and remain united in support of the Palestinian struggle.

“In our beloved state of Perlis, all mosques have been reciting the Qunut Nazilah since April 8, as a gesture of solidarity and prayer for our brothers and sisters in Palestine,” he said.

Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) reported that as of 3.39 pm today, 15 Malaysian volunteers participating in the humanitarian mission have been detained by Israeli forces.

The GSF mission, comprising more than 500 activists from 44 countries, including Malaysia, is sailing towards Gaza as a symbol of solidarity and an effort to break Israel’s blockade, carrying essential supplies for Palestinians affected by ongoing Zionist attacks.
