FDAM-TEKUN NASIONAL PARTNERSHIP TO OFFER FINANCIAL ACCESS TO FILM INDUSTRY MEMBERS

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 6 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Film Directors’ Association (FDAM) has formed a strategic partnership with the National Entrepreneurial Group Economic Fund (Tekun Nasional) to provide access to sharia-compliant financing for association members, to strengthen the development of local production projects.

FDAM chairman Datuk Afdlin Shauki said that through the collaboration, association members are eligible to apply for facilities under the Contract-i Financing Scheme and Tekun Niaga Scheme which can help overcome capital constraints often faced by industry players.

“This initiative reflects the commitment of the FDAM leadership in championing the interests of members and ensuring the continuity of local producers’ work.

“FDAM recognises the challenges that members face in securing financing, especially when preparing presentation papers for Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) in early October. This collaboration is timely to offer new hope to industry practitioners,” he said in a statement here today.

Afdlin said the syariah-compliant financing facility not only guarantees transparency in transactions but also allows producers to focus fully on producing high-quality and competitive works in the market.

He said access to these strategic financing schemes is expected to enhance production integrity and boost the capabilities of local producers in the country's film and broadcasting industry.

“FDAM believes this collaboration with Tekun Nasional will be a catalyst for the sustainability of long-term projects, while raising the stature of local creative talents as professional and reputable producers,” he said.
