KUALA TERENGGANU, Oct 8 (Bernama) -- The Terengganu State Education Department (JPNT) has confirmed that no schools in the state have been closed following the spread of influenza cases among students.
Terengganu State Education Director Kamsah@Kamal Mohamed said that the department has not yet received any report of the outbreak's spread significantly affecting school operations.
"As of now, the situation is still under control, and no schools have been instructed to close due to influenza infection among students," he said when contacted by Bernama here today.
Elaborating, Kamsah said the department has issued guidelines regarding the prevention of the spread of the disease to all schools in the state.
"Students who show symptoms of fever or flu are advised to immediately seek treatment at a health clinic and rest at home if they have a fever, as well as maintain personal hygiene, including frequent handwashing.
"In addition, any student confirmed to have influenza is also ordered to undergo home quarantine until fully recovered," he said.
He added that schools are also requested to immediately contact the District Health Office if there are any suspected cases or early detection of infection in their respective areas.
