KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 9 (Bernama) -- The East Coast Economic Region Development Council (ECERDC) has facilitated RM5 billion in realised investments and RM3.9 billion in committed investments in Pahang for the first nine months of 2025.

In a statement today, the council said the realised investments represent 90 per cent of its RM5.6 billion target for Pahang in 2025, driven by the manufacturing sector at 41 per cent, oil and gas at 34 per cent, and services at 25 per cent.

“Together, these investments have created 2,846 new job opportunities for the people of Pahang.

“Meanwhile, the RM3.9 billion in committed investments, mainly in manufacturing (95 per cent) and agriculture (5 per cent), are expected to generate another 3,185 jobs when realised,” it said.

The announcement was made in conjunction with the Implementation and Coordination Committee ECER Pahang meeting in Putrajaya today, which also saw a formal document exchange between ECERDC and four companies investing a total of RM1.6 billion in the state.

The four companies are PKNP Fire Phoenix Data Center Sdn Bhd, which will establish an artificial intelligence (AI) data centre; Sinolion Wheels Technology Sdn Bhd, which will produce aluminium alloy wheel rims; Malaysian Solar Resources Sdn Bhd, which will develop a green technology manufacturing plant; and Lionphos Sdn Bhd, which will produce food-grade and electronic-grade phosphate.

Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail, who was present at the event, said the state government fully supports these investments as a crucial step in its socio-economic development mission.

“Such partnerships drive sustainable growth, foster innovation, and create high-value jobs in the state. These projects align with our goals to enhance economic resilience and solidify Pahang’s position as a premier investment destination,” he said.

ECERDC chief executive officer Datuk Baidzawi Che Mat said the state’s success in securing investments across multiple sectors reflects the effectiveness of the agency’s balanced development model.

“With the recent completion of the Turtle Conservation and Information Centre set to boost local tourism activity, Pahang is well-positioned to attract new investors, create sustainable jobs, and strengthen its role in both domestic and international supply chains,” he said.

ECERDC said the meeting also highlighted the soon-to-be-opened Kuantan Port City Port Link Road project, which will strengthen logistics connectivity between the Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park and East Coast Expressway.

The 13-kilometre dual carriageway and new toll plaza are scheduled to open on Oct 21, 2025.
