SHAH ALAM, Oct 14 (Bernama) -- Shah Alam is entering a new phase of development, focusing on data, technology, and public well-being, said Mayor Datuk Mohd Fauzi Mohd Yatim.
He said that under the Sustainable Smart Shah Alam 2035 Blueprint, the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) services would be enhanced through the use of data and digitalisation, including the implementation of the Smart Integrated Command Centre (SICC), smart parking systems, and improved waste management.
“These initiatives will boost administrative efficiency, ensuring Shah Alam remains a responsive, people-friendly city built on innovation.
“Additionally, the low-carbon city agenda is being promoted through the Shah Alam Low Carbon City Framework, focusing on reducing the carbon footprint, encouraging urban green transport, and adopting renewable energy practices,” he said at the Shah Alam Urban Forum 2025 (SAUF 2025) here today.
The forum was launched by Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.
Mohd Fauzi added that the two-day SAUF 2025, organised by MBSA, aims to realise this vision and serves as a key platform to discuss the planning and implementation of orderly, sustainable, inclusive, and liveable urban development.
He said the forum also celebrates MBSA’s achievements, coinciding with the city’s 25th Silver Jubilee of its declaration as a city on Oct 10.
