FLOOD-HIT RESIDENTS ADVISED TO EVACUATE FOR SAFETY REASONS

25/10/2025 01:15 PM

KULIM, Oct 25 (Bernama) -- Residents in flood-hit areas in the district have been advised to immediately move to temporary relief centres for their own safety following reports that some still refused to budge despite their homes being inundated.

Kulim District Officer Mohamad Rizal Mohamad Radzi said their refusal to leave their flooded homes is dangerous, especially during these uncertain weather conditions, in addition to facing the risk of running out of food supplies.

"I urge everyone in flood-hit areas to immediately leave their homes and move into the relief centres,” he said when met at the Sekolah Menengah Agama Madrasah Ihsaniah temporary relief centre in Kampung Jangkang, Karangan, here today.

He said that besides providing food and beverages four times a day, officers from various agencies are also present at the relief centres to assist in channelling aid to them.

He added that the Kulim District Office will also continue to provide additional assistance if necessary, in collaboration with the Social Welfare Department.
