JTM TO ENSURE MARKETABILITY, EMPLOYABILITY OF ADTEC GRADUATES REMAIN HIGH

29/10/2025 07:46 PM

BATU PAHAT, Oct 29 (Bernama) -- The Department of Manpower (JTM) will continue to ensure graduates produced through Advanced Technology Training Centres (ADTECs) nationwide can meet the requirements of the employment sector in various fields.

Its director-general, Datuk Rospiagos Taha, said that, so far, the training centre's graduates have a high marketability and employability, as well as are in demand by the country's industry players, especially in the field of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

He added that, so far, the marketability of ADTEC graduates who have found jobs is at 95 per cent, while in terms of employability - namely graduates who are working in the fields they studied - it is at about 80 per cent.

"We, at JTM, will continue to ensure this percentage remains high, thus making the 33 ADTECs nationwide and the two satellite campuses the main choice for students to further their education.

"One of the efforts we have undertaken is collaborating with industry players to ensure the courses offered are always relevant, in line with technological trends and meet the needs of the job market,” he told reporters today.

He said this during a press conference after officiating the MyFutureJobs X ADTEC JTM Batu Pahat Campus Career and TVET Education Carnival, which was also attended by ADTEC JTM Batu Pahat Campus director Dr Muhammad Yusof and Johor Talent Development Council (JTDC) Strategic Human Capital Unit general manager Herman Raban.

Rospiagos also said that JTM has implemented several memorandum of cooperation (MoC) exchanges, which are expected to provide great benefits in terms of human resource development, sharing of technology, student industrial training and instructor-led training, thus becoming a catalyst for improving national skills.

He added that in Johor, in addition to receiving good cooperation from various parties, there is also a high level of support and commitment from the state government towards human capital development.

"For example, today we received aid from the Johor government in the form of an equipment grant worth RM248,200, aimed at producing highly skilled graduates and workers.

"At the same time, we also received special aid from Yayasan Makmur Batu Pahat to assist students from the B40 group so that they can continue their studies,” he said.
