ALOR SETAR, Oct 30 (Bernama) -- The number of flood evacuees in Kedah decreased to 698 people from 198 families as of 8 am today, down from 720 people from 202 families recorded last night.
The Kedah State Disaster Management Committee said in a statement that all evacuees from the Pendang, Kota Setar and Pokok Sena districts remain housed at five relief centres (PPS).
“Pendang recorded the highest number of evacuees, with 562 people housed in three PPS.
“In Kota Setar, 128 evacuees take shelter at a PPS, while eight evacuees are accommodated in Pokok Sena,” said the statement.
Meanwhile, in Perak, the number of flood evacuees remains at 130 people from 36 families, all taking shelter at Sekolah Agama Rakyat Padang Serai in Manjung.
