MYPESARA CARNIVAL A PLATFORM TO STRENGTHEN WELFARE OF RETIRED CIVIL SERVANTS - KWAP

15/11/2025 07:51 PM

KOTA BHARU, Nov 15 (Bernama) -- The MyPesara Carnival is not just an annual event but serves as an important platform to strengthen the welfare of government retirees, modernise services through artificial intelligence (AI) technology, and reconnect civil servants with the grassroots through the MADANI Adopted Village initiative.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Retirement Fund (Incorporated) (KWAP), Datuk Nik Amlizan Mohamed, said the three-day carnival, held for the first time in the East Coast, chose Kelantan because the state has a strong community network, including 10 schools under the Madani Adopted School programme and an adopted village under the Santuni Madani programme in Bachok.

She said KWAP also focuses its efforts on retiree welfare through the MyPesara Tour programme, which is implemented throughout the year, involving visits across the country to engage with retirees, including those who are frail.

“During the tour, we don't just come to visit, but we also fulfil their needs. Some need wheelchairs, walking sticks, or specific essential items. We try our best to help,” she told Bernama after attending the Launching Ceremony of MyPesara 2025, here, today.

Nik Amlizan said the recreational activities organised this morning also received an exceptional response, with more than 2,000 participants attending with their respective families.

“We want to remind retirees that an active life after retirement is very important, not only for the body but also for nourishing the soul and mind,” she said.

In an effort to modernise services for retirees, KWAP will introduce KIAH, an AI-based virtual robot capable of interacting in Bahasa Malaysia and English to answer various questions related to pensions and retirement services.

“KIAH stands for KWAP Is Always Here, and it is developed as a 'digital companion' for retirees that can answer questions such as pension payment dates, claim statuses, and service locations,” she said.

She mentioned that KIAH is now in the final stages of development and is expected to be officially launched in January 2026 before being integrated into the MyPesara application.

“My aspiration is to see KIAH have dialect variations like Kelantan, Sarawak, Penang, and Kedah, but that will be developed in phases,” she said.

Meanwhile, when asked to comment on the selection of Bachok as an adopted village under the Santuni Madani programme, she said the location was chosen based on the family origins of officers under the Ministry of Finance, as an effort to connect civil servants with the community.

“The main purpose is so that government personnel do not forget their roots. We return to the village of origin, see the needs of the residents, and help as much as we can,” she said.

She stated that the initiative will continue to be expanded to ensure the community and civil servant relationship remains strong and provides long-term benefits.
