AMBASSADOR CUP BADMINTON INVITATIONAL HELPS FOSTER MALAYSIA-CHINA TIES AMONG MEDIA

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 15 (Bernama) -- The 4th Ambassador Cup – Badminton Invitational for Media concluded successfully today at Arena Badminton Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), Cheras, providing a platform for media practitioners to engage in sport while strengthening Malaysia-China relations.

Chinese ambassador to Malaysia Ouyang Yujing expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and DBKL for their support, and commended media representatives for their active participation. 

He also acknowledged the referees, line judges, umpires and tournament staff for their dedicated work.

“Many media friends here have witnessed and covered these historic moments. Your professional and devoted work has played a unique role in promoting the steady development of China-Malaysia relations. 

“We hope you will continue to capture truth through words and lenses, convey goodwill far and wide, make good use of the power of media and contribute to carry on the traditional friendship between China and Malaysia and forge closer ties between the two peoples,” he said.

He said this in his speech at the Award Ceremony of The 4th Ambassador Cup-Badminton Invitational for Media, was also attended by Deputy Secretary-General (Strategic) of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Chan Hong Jin.

Meanwhile, Chan highlighted the importance of sports as a bridge for unity and diplomacy.

“Badminton, in particular, has long been a symbol of connection between Malaysia and China. It is a sport that both our nations take great pride in. 

“The participation of more than 150 representatives from Xinhua News Agency, Sin Chew Daily, Bernama, The Star, New Straits Times, Sinar Harian and many others today is a reflection of how sports can act as a unifying language, fostering camaraderie, understanding, and collaboration among media professionals and the wider community,” she said.
