BANTING, Nov 22 (Bernama) -- Nearly 6,000 recipients have benefited from equipment assistance under the Selangor Poverty Eradication Blueprint Equipment Assistance Programme since its introduction in 2008.
Selangor Human Resources and Poverty Eradication Exco V. Papparaidu said the initiative is part of the state government’s efforts to provide residents with opportunities to improve their livelihood through structured, high-impact entrepreneurship programmes.
He said the programme not only provides equipment but also gives thousands of families the confidence, hope and a second chance to build a new future.
“The state government continues to strengthen its entrepreneurship policies through an empowerment-driven economy,” he said when officiating the Blueprint and I-SEED KitaSelangor 2025 Carnival at Dataran Pantai Morib today.
Also present were state assembly speaker Lau Weng San and Selangor Economic Planning Unit (UPEN) Sectoral Section deputy director Nujaimatu’l Aliah Mohd Jais.
The Blueprint Equipment Assistance Programme aims to increase B40 household income by providing equipment or machinery to support existing micro and small businesses. Applications can be made through Selangor district and land offices.
Papparaidu said 567 Indian entrepreneurs have also been assisted under the Selangor Indian Entrepreneur Equipment Aid Programme (i-SEED) since 2021, which provides equipment, capital support, training and continuous guidance.
He said today’s carnival brought together more than 300 participants, including micro-entrepreneurs, support agencies, financing institutions, digital industry players and public safety and health bodies.
“Through this carnival, entrepreneurs are not just showcasing products but also rebuilding confidence, forming new networks, learning modern marketing techniques and, most importantly, securing a brighter future for their families and communities,” he said.
