GUA MUSANG, Nov 23 (Bernama) -- All land development activities in the Lojing Highlands have been suspended with immediate effect until Dec 31 due to persistent heavy rainfall and the area’s susceptibility to landslides and mud floods.
Gua Musang District Council (MDGM) president Mohd Roshdi Ismail said the directive was issued under Section 70A(4) of the Street, Drainage and Building Act 1974 (Act 133), which allows local authorities to halt land works that may endanger lives or property.
In a statement today, he said developers and contractors involved in land-related projects must prioritise slope safety by complying with all requirements and following the instructions of the relevant technical departments.
He noted that no land-related activities, including remedial works, are permitted without prior approval from the authorities.
