NO STATE MAGINALISED IN EDUCATION - ZAMBRY

26/11/2025 02:01 PM

TAWAU,  Nov 26  (Bernama) -- The public is advised not to be swayed by claims that certain states are being marginalised in education, said Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir.

He said the government consistently ensures equal access to higher education for all citizens, regardless of their state of origin.

“We (the government) do not differentiate where they come from. They are all our Malaysian children who deserve the right to education,” he said.

He said this when speaking at the Community TVET Exploration Programme, which was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Rural and Regional Development Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, at Tawau Community College here today.

Zambry added that it is the policy of the MADANI government to prioritise providing quality and inclusive education to all segments of society nationwide.

As proof of this commitment, he said the government has allocated more than RM1 billion,  specifically for the development of higher education in Sabah.

“Let’s not listen to nonsense stories that say this is not given and that is not given. We live as Malaysians, we all want to give the best to the children of our future generation,” he said.

He said the people’s support was also crucial to ensure that the government’s efforts to strengthen education could be implemented effectively.

The programme, themed “TVET, the Top Career Choice”, was held as part of grassroots advocacy efforts to promote Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). More than 1,000 visitors — including school students, youths and members of the local community — attended and took part in the various interactive activities organised.
