TAKAFUL IKHLAS ENHANCES IWE INITIATIVE WITH NEW RM500 DEATH BENEFIT

26/11/2025 05:00 PM

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 26 (Bernama) -- Takaful Ikhlas General Berhad (Takaful IKHLAS) has enhanced its IKHLAS Waqf and Endowment (IWE) initiative with a new feature - a RM500 death benefit - providing participants’ heirs with added financial security.

In a statement today, Takaful IKHLAS said the additional benefit was introduced as a gesture of concern and support for participants’ heirs during difficult times.

“Introduced in 2019, IWE is a social responsibility initiative developed by Takaful IKHLAS to encourage participants to contribute continuously to the community.

“IWE is offered at no cost to those subscribing to general takaful protection plans. Through this initiative, Takaful IKHLAS allocates RM1,000 in the participant’s name for waqf or endowment purposes in the event of death due to an accident,” the statement said.

MNRB Holdings Berhad Interim President and Group Chief Executive Officer Datuk Rudy Rodzila Che Lamin, who is also Takaful Ikhlas President and Chief Executive Officer, said the additional benefit was introduced as a proactive step to enhance support for participants.

“We always strive to ensure that the products offered by Takaful IKHLAS not only provide comprehensive protection but also deliver continuous benefits.

“This reflects the beauty of the takaful concept - helping one another, protecting and caring for each other,” he said, adding that the funds collected through IWE are managed by IKHLAS Barakah House, a Syariah-compliant fundraising platform under Takaful IKHLAS.

Rudy Rodzila said that since its inception, IWE has collected a total of RM86,000, which has been directed towards initiatives to improve community well-being, including cash donations, medical equipment, and treatment assistance for selected waqf institutions.

“In line with the goal of IKHLAS Barakah House, which is ‘Bersama Memperkasakan Kehidupan’, every participant contribution is channelled to provide continuous benefits to the community,” he said.

Takaful IKHLAS recently handed over IWE contributions from 37 participants in the form of five phototherapy machines to the Paediatric Ward of MSU Medical Centre (MSUMC) to assist in the treatment of babies with jaundice and other conditions requiring light therapy as the primary treatment method.

The contributions were handed over by President and Chief Executive Officer of Takaful Ikhlas Family Berhad Wan Ahmad Najib Wan Ahmad Lotfi, representing Takaful IKHLAS, to the Founder and President of Management Science University and MSUMC, Tan Sri Dr Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid.
