KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 26 (Bernama) -- Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, Queen of Malaysia, has consented to select handmade products, crafted by B40 women, single mothers and Orang Asli as souvenirs of Istana Negara.

Her Majesty expressed this during an audience she granted today, where she also viewed a product showcase by the Komuniti Tukang Jahit Malaysia and The Asli.co at the palace.

“I also hope that other parties, including corporate entities and individuals, will come forward to place orders for these craft products, as a show of support. This will help provide the artisans with meaningful financial assistance, as they are paid for every item they produce,” said Her Majesty in a post shared on the Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar Facebook page.

The Queen also encouraged both groups to integrate elements of unity into their handcrafted creations - including dolls - to reflect Malaysia’s rich diversity and harmonious multiracial identity.

Komuniti Tukang Jahit Malaysia is an organisation which produces handmade sewing handicrafts by B40 women and single mothers, while The Asli.co is an organisation which helps Orang Asli market their beauty products and handicrafts.
