IPOH, Nov 30 (Bernama) -- Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad has ordered immediate action to be taken to repair the main road in Pulau Pangkor that was damaged following continuous heavy rain for several days.
Instructions have been given to the Manjung district officer after he inspected the location of the incident to see the damaged road that has affected local communities there.
“I have asked the Manjung district officer to take necessary action and to implement the repairs as soon as possible,” he posted on Facebook today.
Saarani also inspected a nearby location that was affected, a landslide at Sekolah Menengah Tahfiz Darul Ridzuan, Pulau Pangkor that raised concerns of students, teachers and parents.
“The technical department has also been asked to conduct a comprehensive assessment to ensure the area really is safe before any learning activities are conducted. In such crucial times, safety must be the priority,” he added.
