NEW PPJ PRESIDENT TO FOCUS ON CLEANLINESS, STRONGER ON-GROUND PRESENCE

04/12/2025 08:32 PM

PUTRAJAYA, Dec 4 (Bernama) -- Newly appointed Putrajaya Corporation (PPj) president Datuk Mohd Sakeri Abdul Kadir says his leadership will prioritise improving cleanliness, increasing on-ground presence of officers and ensuring more effective infrastructure maintenance.

He said PPj must ensure that service quality consistently met the highest standards as the public and stakeholders had high expectations of the nation’s administrative capital.

“I view the presence of officers on the ground as very important, not to look for faults, but to provide courteous reminders and guidance so that customer wellbeing is well taken care of,” he told Bernama after leading the PPj Integrated Health and Premises Cleanliness Operation here today.

Mohd Sakeri, now in his third week helming PPj, said he was conducting a thorough review of PPj’s operations before detailing any reforms.

“What has been developed by the seven previous presidents is already solid. My role is to ensure that this continuity is strengthened and to identify areas for improvement,” he said.

He also stressed the importance of scheduled infrastructure maintenance to ensure public assets remained functional for a longer period and continued to benefit Putrajaya residents.

Earlier, Mohd Sakeri led the Integrated Health and Premises Cleanliness Operation involving the Putrajaya Health Office, the Federal Territories Department and the Solid Waste Management and Public Cleansing Corporation (SWCorp).

The inspection focused on the cleanliness of food premises, compliance in the sale of tobacco products including electronic cigarettes and vape, as well as enforcement against commercial premises that posed risks to public health.

A total of 38 premises were inspected, resulting in 15 compounds and 22 warning notices issued.
