KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 5 (Bernama) -- The Department of Museums Malaysia is offering free entry to the National Museum for Malaysian citizens this Saturday and Sunday in conjunction with the three years of the MADANI Government administration and the “Rancakkan MADANI Bersama Malaysiaku” celebration.
The Ministry of National Unity, in a statement today, said the initiative aims to encourage the public, especially young people and families, to deepen their understanding of national history and appreciate the heritage that shapes Malaysia’s identity.
It said the National Museum features four main galleries showcasing Malaysia’s historical journey, covering the prehistoric era, the Malay sultanate, colonialism, and the development of the modern nation.
Visitors may refer to the museum’s official website for further information on the galleries and exhibitions, it said.
Meanwhile, National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang, in the same statement, said understanding history is a key foundation for fostering unity, strengthening national values, and enhancing the spirit of togetherness among Malaysians.
He said offering free entry would provide more opportunities for the public to reconnect with the country’s historical roots.
The National Museum is open to visitors from 9 am to 5 pm.
