RANCAKKAN MADANI DRAWS EXTRAORDINARY RESPONSE - PM ANWAR

PUTRAJAYA, Dec 7 (Bernama) -- The Rancakkan MADANI Bersama Malaysiaku programme received an overwhelming response, drawing more than 300,000 visitors over its three-day run, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Anwar, who is also the Finance Minister, said the programme, which began on Friday, was aimed at giving the public the opportunity to assess the MADANI Government’s achievements over the past three years, while also experiencing firsthand the various government services offered.

“Congratulations to everyone for their strong support and for making this programme a success,” he said when delivering his speech at the closing ceremony of the Rancakkan MADANI Bersama Malaysiaku programme here today.

Also present were both Deputy Prime Ministers Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, as well as members of the Cabinet.

Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar and Public Service Department director-general Tan Sri Wan Ahmad Dahlan Abdul Aziz were also in attendance.

The Prime Minister said that over the past three years, the MADANI Government has introduced numerous targeted initiatives aimed at benefiting Malaysians of all races.

“In fact, if we tally them, there are 167 new initiatives. But at times, these do not reach the public. What often reaches them instead are insults and criticism, because in a democratic and open country with social media, the space is more frequently used to attack rather than to build,” he said.

In this regard, Anwar urged civil servants to further intensify their efforts in communicating government policies and initiatives, ensuring that accurate information reaches the grassroots.

“I ask that within the civil service, differences of opinion are acceptable, but the responsibility is to convey what the government has implemented, and to critique or propose what can be improved,” he said.

The Prime Minister also expressed his appreciation to the Cabinet and the top civil service leadership for their support in helping his administration formulate policies aimed at enhancing the well-being of the people.

“The measure of our success is not only economic growth, but also the overall well-being and comfort of the people. I am grateful that the vast majority of the people choose to care for their communities within the broader context of the nation,” he said.

“They look after their states as part of Malaysia, rather than through a narrow lens that could lead to division and hardship,” he added.

The Rancakkan MADANI programme features more than 300 people-centric services, career fair, interactive exhibitions, family-friendly activities, and a variety of special offers for the public.

The Rancakkan MADANI programme continues the MADANI Government’s tradition of annual public reporting, following the ‘One Year with the MADANI Government’ and ‘Two Years with the MADANI Government’ events held in 2023 and 2024.
