MBI SELANGOR RECEIVES ESG PLUS AWARD FOR STRONG CORPORATE GOVERNANCE

SHAH ALAM, Dec 12 (Bernama) -- Menteri Besar Selangor Incorporated (MBI Selangor) was honoured with the ESG Plus Award in the Governance and Ethical Leadership category at the ESG PLUS Awards 2025 ceremony held in the federal capital two days ago.

In a statement, MBI Selangor said the award was presented in recognition of organisations’ commitment to strong corporate governance, sustainable financial initiatives, comprehensive personal data protection, and integrity-driven leadership.

It said the award also recognises organisations that build long-term trust and uphold integrity across all aspects of their business.

“This award reflects MBI Selangor and its subsidiaries’ strong commitment to high-integrity governance as the foundation for long-term value creation. Our portfolio spans sectors that are vital to the State of Selangor’s economic growth, including land and property, mining and minerals, water, energy and utilities.

“MBI Selangor has taken on a huge responsibility to maintain public trust and manage institutional risk effectively. In line with the First Selangor Plan (RS-1), we continue to strengthen transparency, efficiency and data-driven management to ensure that every decision and operation meets the highest governance standards,” said the statement.

MBI Selangor, in the same statement, said the awards were supported by strategic partners of the ESG PLUS Awards, including Baker Tilly Malaysia, ESG Academy (ESGAP) and Convene ESG, to ensure that all assessments were carried out according to international standards.

It also reaffirmed its commitment to advancing sustainability efforts, in line with Selangor’s sustainable development agenda.

In conjunction with the awards ceremony at the Sheraton Hotel, an ESG PLUS dialogue themed “The ESG Balancing Act: Profit, People & Planet in Today’s Economy” was also held, bringing together industry leaders to share insights, experiences, and best practices in ESG leadership, while discussing the challenges, opportunities, and future direction of implementing sustainability principles in Asia.
