BPA ALLOCATES RM900,000 FOR MADANI ADOPTED VILLAGE PROJECT IN KAMPUNG SERI MINYAK

JASIN, Dec 13 (Bernama) -- The Public Complaints Bureau (BPA) has allocated RM900,000 to implement the MADANI Adopted Village project in Kampung Seri Minyak, Merlimau, here.

BPA director-general Datuk Akbar Samon said the project development comprises four main components, namely the installation of solar-powered street lights, upgrading of the futsal court at Kampung Tersusun Taman Pahlawan, enhancement works at Masjid Al-Abrar, as well as academic guidance programmes for children and teenagers.

“This project is a corporate social responsibility initiative by the BPA that will directly benefit the local community and selected schools in Jasin, funded through an allocation from the Finance Ministry,” he said at the handover ceremony of the BPA MADANI Adopted Village project held here today.

Akbar said the academic programmes, with a cost of RM95,585, comprise two human capital development initiatives, the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Start-Up and the Character Building Camp.

He said the AI Start-Up programme, conducted from June to December at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Pulai, involved 35 primary school pupils and 17 secondary school students, and is aimed at introducing AI technology to young learners.

According to him, the programme seeks to foster self-directed learning, critical thinking and creativity, while emphasising ethical AI use to cultivate responsible and conscientious technology users among students.

He urged the youth of Kampung Seri Minyak to boldly explore AI technology, noting that the future will be shaped by those with digital knowledge and the ability to create, rather than merely consume, technology.

Akbar said the Character Building Camp, held from Oct 10 to 12, involved 51 participants from 14 schools around Jasin, comprising 34 primary school pupils and 17 secondary school students, with a focus on discipline, patriotism and moral values to nurture knowledgeable students of integrity.

Meanwhile, he said the project’s completion ahead of schedule on Dec 31 not only demonstrated the ability of government agencies to make swift decisions, but also reflected a new work culture that rejects unnecessary bureaucracy and prioritises outcomes with direct impact on the people.

He added that the Kampung Angkat MADANI initiative is aligned with the Public Service Reform Agenda (ARPA) currently being implemented by the government to ensure more efficient, responsive and people-centric service delivery.
