KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 14 (Bernama) -- The Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) has selected Kampung Sungai Lui, Batu 20, Hulu Langat, Selangor, as its MADANI Adopted Village, as part of efforts to enhance rural community development.

In a statement today, KBS said the project is being carried out in collaboration with the Selangor State Youth and Sports Department (JBS), the National Youth Skills Training Institute (IKTBN) in Dusun Tua, the Kajang Municipal Council (MPKj), the Hulu Langat District and Land Office, the Hulu Langat District Youth Council, and local youth and community associations.

“The project involves extensive infrastructure upgrades, such as the renovation of multi-purpose courts, road resurfacing, and the addition of parking spaces around the mosque, improvements to the community centre, roof repairs to the silat court, refurbishment of the multi-purpose hall, and repairs to the futsal and netball courts,” read the statement.

In addition to physical development, KBS has launched various youth and sports development programmes, including youth entrepreneurship initiatives, community sports, volunteer activities, basic skills training through Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), sports clinics, arts and music activities, and the Rakan Muda initiative.

KBS is confident that the MADANI Adopted Village programme will have a positive impact on the Kampung Sungai Lui community by providing improved facilities and comprehensive youth development opportunities.

The ministry also hopes that the Kampung Sungai Lui community will fully utilise the facilities and programmes available and continue to cooperate to ensure the sustainability of the project.

"With the continued support of all parties, KBS is confident that Kampung Sungai Lui will continue to grow as a progressive, sustainable, and prosperous community, in line with the MADANI government’s aspirations for the well-being of rural communities," the statement added.
