JOHOR BAHRU, Dec 20 (Bernama) -- Flood conditions in Johor have fully eased after the three temporary evacuation centres in Mersing were closed at noon today.
State Disaster Management Committee chairman Datuk Asman Shah Abd Rahman, in a statement, said that the three centres were SK Pusat Air Tawar, SJKC Chiao Ching and SK Labong.
“All 356 evacuees from 93 families housed at the three evacuation centres were allowed to return home today after floodwaters receded and their residences were deemed safe.
However, he said the water level of Sungai Muar at Buloh Kasap, Segamat was reported to have exceeded the danger level with a reading of 8.81 metres.
He added that weather conditions are forecast to be fair across all 10 districts this afternoon.
Mersing was the first district affected by flooding on Wednesday, when an evacuation centre was opened following several hours of continuous rain.
