GENTING HIGHLANDS, Jan 9 (Bernama) -- Resorts World Genting (RWG) launched its "CNY in the Sky" campaign today in conjunction with the 2026 Chinese New Year (CNY) celebrations, showcasing a unique blend of age-old traditions and futuristic digital storytelling technology.

The centerpiece of this year’s celebration is the debut of the 2026 CNY brand film, specifically designed to set the festive mood through an innovative seasonal narrative.

The 2026 CNY brand film is inspired by the spirit of unity and cultural heritage, revolving around Tian Ma, the RWG official IP character, taking audiences on a journey through Resorts World Genting.

The production of the film is a result of a strategic collaboration with the award-winning agency, Ampersand Advisory, led by its chief executive officer and co-founder, Sandeep Joseph.

The visual artistry and cultural narrative, aimed at bridging the generational gap, were brought to life by film director Chew Boon Wai, alongside Ampersand Advisory’s creative director Claudia Low, and Head of Creative Services, Janice Kiew.

Also providing strategic support in the creation of this visual masterpiece was Aqina Group of Companies managing director Wesley Tan Seah Ging.

The Genting SkyWorlds Immersive Studio marks a major milestone for RWG as it has been officially recognised by the Malaysia Book of Records as the highest-altitude immersive attraction in Malaysia, reflecting RWG’s ongoing commitment to delivering creative story-telling and unique experiences for visitors at the peak.

RWG Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Public Relations, Spencer Lee, said the "CNY in the Sky" campaign aims to celebrate tradition through meaningful and impactful experiences.

“CNY is about coming together, reflecting on the past year and looking ahead with hope together,” he said at the launch ceremony.

The Genting SkyWorlds Theme Park visitors can experience the CNY-themed immersive video at Studio Plaza, which features stunning visuals, seasonal storytelling and festive showcases in high-altitude setting, from today until March 3.

In addition to the film, RWG introduced 'Tian Ma' as the official mascot for the 2026 CNY, who is also the latest member to join the Genting’s Highland Heroes (GHH) family.

Chosen in conjunction with the Year of the Horse in 2026, Tian Ma symbolises progress and the spirit of moving forward, aligning with the essence of this year’s festivities.

For fans of exclusive merchandise, limited-edition Tian Ma collections will be offered to Genting Rewards members through point redemptions and purchases.

On the culinary front, RWG has prepared various festive highlights, including the Sau Gong Dinner for corporate and enterprise partners and the Hoi Gong Dinner to symbolise a prosperous start to the working year.

The Genting International Convention Centre (GICC) is also offering pork-free banquet packages starting from RM2,880 per table of 10, which are available for booking until March 31.

Notably, every minimum booking of five tables for the GICC package will include five complimentary Deluxe Rooms at the First World Hotel.

For visitors seeking buffet options, Coffee Terrace will present a wide variety of CNY gastronomy, while the Old Friends Restaurant, Season, Genting Palace by Crockfords (non-halal), and FUHU restaurant will offer exquisite festive feasts, from Feb 16 to March 3.

The festive excitement continues with the CNY eve countdown show, "CNY in the Sky Prosperity Shows" and the "Auspicious Grab & Win" contest, offering various attractive rewards to lucky visitors.

Traditional elements remain a priority through lion dance parades, cultural performances, and a vibrant bazaar located at the iconic Chin Swee Caves Temple, along with RWG’s Flower Market at SkyAvenue that offers a curated range of CNY treats, including pineapple and durian tarts.

Overall, CNY in the Sky 2026 promises double the joy through the integration of modern and traditional elements, further solidifying RWG's position as a premier tourism destination in Malaysia.
