KBS CONTINUES INTERNATIONAL YOUTH FUND PROGRAMME FOR 2026

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 16 (Bernama) -- The Youth and Sports Ministry (KBS) will continue to implement the KBS International Youth Fund (IYF@KBS) 2026 as part of the MADANI Government’s ongoing commitment to internationalising youth aged between 18 and 30.

In a statement today, KBS said the initiative was introduced to support the participation of Malaysian youth on global platforms such as international meetings, forums, conferences and symposiums related to youth development.

“Youth participation not only provides exposure to global best practices, but also opens opportunities for young people to be directly involved in discussions on global issues, build strategic networks and strengthen cross-cultural understanding.

“In line with the Malaysian Youth Policy and the Madani Youth Development Model, this effort empowers Malaysian youth to join their peers from various countries in becoming part of the voices shaping policy formulation, programmes and initiatives at the global and regional levels,” the statement said.

The IYF is offered on a one-off basis to Malaysian citizens aged 18 to 30, with priority given to those who are active in registered associations, organisations or clubs, providing assistance of up to RM20,000 for each approved application. 

The grant covers programme participation fees, economy-class air tickets, meal allowances, insurance, visas and accommodation, subject to prescribed rates.

Applications will be open in four series starting today for international meetings, forums, conferences and symposiums taking place between March 1 and Nov 15, 2026. All applications must be submitted online via the official KBS portal at www.kbs.gov.my/iyf, together with the required documents.

The move is expected to further strengthen the national youth development ecosystem, produce credible young leaders, and contribute to building a progressive, inclusive and internationally competitive Malaysia.
