PUTRAJAYA, Jan 19 (Bernama) -- The Royal Address by His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, serves as a reminder to all Ministry of Education (MOE) staff to always strive to empower the country's education ecosystem as the foundation of nation-building, national identity and Malaysia's future.
The MOE said that His Majesty's address emphasised that any proposal to recognise other education systems must be done in line with the National Education Policy, and accept the need to uphold Bahasa Melayu and strengthen the subject of Malaysian history.
"The MOE is focusing on the implementation of the Malaysia Education Plan (RPM) 2026-2035 and the new preschool curriculum. RPM 2026-2035 is a continuation of the Malaysian Education Development Plan (PPPM) 2013-2025, which ended last year,” it said in a statement today.
It added that the main goal of the RPM is to improve the quality of education in the country for the sake of Malaysian children.
"As decreed by His Majesty, the RPM 2026-2035 emphasises efforts to elevate Bahasa Melayu as the national language and strengthening the mastery of English and other languages as added value for students,” it added.
The MOE said His Majesty's decree would be implemented to improve national education and the well-being of Malaysians.
The MOE also thanked His Majesty for his Royal Address at the opening of the First Meeting of the Fifth Session of the 15th Parliament for the Dewan Rakyat and Dewan Negara here today, which stressed the importance of national education.
