PM ANWAR WANTS PROGRESS REPORTS ON RPN 2026-2035 STARTING MARCH

20/01/2026 05:11 PM

PUTRAJAYA, Jan 20 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has ordered all ministries, departments and education institutions involved in the National Education Blueprint (RPN) 2026-2035 to submit progress reports starting this March.

He said that the main challenge lies not in producing impressive plans, but in ensuring that every policy and programme is effectively implemented.

“This is not just a reminder but a stern warning from me, because I am concerned about how many blueprints we launch without seeing proper implementation,” he said at the launch of the RPN 2026-2035 here today.

Anwar said the blueprint is a major blueprint for the country’s future and its younger generation, and would only be meaningful if properly executed.

“This is a major plan for our nation and a good plan for our children. It reflects how serious we are about change, transformation and reform in education, so that within a few years the quality of education improves and our children’s future is brighter than it is today,” he said.

The new education blueprint launched today reflects a comprehensive and phased alignment of national education policy, ensuring continuity in human capital development from the school level to higher education.

The RPN is jointly led by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) through the Malaysian Higher Education Blueprint (RPTM) 2026-2035 and the Ministry of Education (MOE) through the Malaysian Education Blueprint (RPM) 2026-2035.

Also present at the launch were Deputy Prime Ministers Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, along with Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir and Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek.

Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar was in attendance.
