BANDAR BAHARU, Jan 20 (Bernama) -- All Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) personnel have been urged to continue to serve with a high level of integrity and professionalism.

Bukit Aman Integrity and Standards Compliance Department (JIPS) director Datuk Hamzah Ahmad said all orders and instructions issued are intended to protect everyone, particularly the public.

"In terms of integrity and also the compliance of standards, I urge all PDRM staff to comply as best as they can with all slogans, instructions and orders that are issued by the leadership.

"So too with the needs and requirements of local communities, especially in terms of security issues… these must be met as best as possible,” he told reporters after officiating at the launch of the Bandar Baharu District Police Headquarters near here today.

Also present were Kedah police chief Datuk Adzli Abu Shah and his deputy, DCP Baderulhisham Baharudin.

Hamzah, in his speech, said that the Bandar Baharu police headquarters reflected the government's continued commitment to strengthening the security force's capabilities, in line with the population growth and the country's socio-economic development.

He added that the provision of complete and modern facilities would also enable them to provide more efficient, responsive and focused services to the local community.

"Despite the challenges and the wide area of coverage, the close cooperation between the police and the community remains the cornerstone to ensuring the district's harmony.

"All aspects will be looked into, including ongoing efforts to curb various forms of crimes, including violent, property and commmercial crimes, as well as drug abuse,” he said.
