PUTRAJAYA, Jan 20 (Bernama) -- The Community Sensitive Issues Reference Centre (PRISMA) has now been established as an effort to address and manage unity issues more effectively, said National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang.
The Minister said that the Department of National Unity and Integration (JPNIN) will coordinate and unify all mechanisms for managing unity issues through PRISMA.
“This step is aimed at ensuring a systematic, integrated, and strategic approach in addressing unity challenges," he said while delivering the 2026 National Unity Ministry (KPN) address here today.
Additionally, he said the ministry will finalise the Unity Issues Management Framework (IRM) as an integrated master document to systematically coordinate the actions of various agencies.
"KPN carries a great responsibility to be a bridge of unity in a diverse society," he added, noting that the theme for 2026 is 'Building the Nation Together'.
He said this year’s theme is in line with the aspirations of the MADANI Government through the 13th Malaysia Plan, which also highlights nation-building as one of the main pillars of the development of the people and nation.
"The nation-state is very important for Malaysia today because it is the foundation of P.U.S.H., which means the peace, unity, stability, and harmony of a multiracial country," he said.
Meanwhile, Aaron said KPN’s work plan for this year will focus on five main clusters: Tunas MADANI, Komuniti MADANI, Harmoni MADANI, Rakyat MADANI and Warisan MADANI.
He said that several engagement sessions, roundtable discussions, town hall sessions, and the Nation-Building Conference to be held this September, will be implemented to produce the Nation-Building Blueprint for reference, especially for government agencies in making new policies and initiatives.
This year, the ministry will strive to present the Malaysia Museums Bill to the Malaysian Parliament.
"The ministry, through the National Library of Malaysia, will review the Deposit of Library Material Act 1986 to improve access to the country's scientific materials," he said.
At the ceremony, Aaron also presented the official media partner appointment certificate for the Nation State to the Malaysian National News Agency (BERNAMA), represented by its deputy executive editor II, Sh Nur Shahrizad Sy Mohamed Sharer.
Also receiving official media partner appointments were Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) and the Department of Information Malaysia (JAPEN).
