SULTAN MIZAN GRACES PRESENTATION OF ECIPIT 2025 AWARDS

KUALA TERENGGANU, Jan 27 (Bernama) -- The Sultan of Terengganu, Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin, today officiated the presentation ceremony for the 2025 Yayasan Diraja Sultan Mizan (YDSM) EkoCeria Awards for Terengganu Islamic Educational Institutions  (ECIPIT).

Also present at the ceremony held at Istana Syarqiyyah here, were Yang Dipertuan Muda of Terengganu Tengku Muhammad Ismail, Tengku Sri Setia Mahkota Raja, Tengku Muhammad Mua'az, and Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar.

The awards recognised achievements in four categories - cheerfulness, safety, health and cleanliness, and the grand award, with a total prize pool exceeding RM30,000.

Pusat Tahfiz Tarbiyyah Raudhatul Hijrah in Kemaman took the top spot, followed by Sekolah Rendah Islam Al-Amin in Kuala Nerus in second place, and Pusat Tarbiah Nurul Iman Kampung Raja, Besut, in third place.

Meanwhile, Datuk Mohd Fadli Yusof, a trustee of YDSM, said the ECIPIT programme was introduced to create a learning and teaching environment that is sustainable, inclusive, safe, and innovative, aligned with Islamic values.

He emphasised that the initiative aims to foster a more systematic approach to education and environmental management in Islamic educational institutions in Terengganu.

“The goal of YDSM is for every institution in the state to meet high standards of safety, health, cleanliness, and innovation, in line with the teachings of Islam,” he said.

He also announced that ECIPIT would be held biannually in the future, with an initial budget of RM150,000 allocated for this first event.

Mohd Fadli expressed confidence that ECIPIT would become a significant platform for recognising excellence in creating well-managed and systematic educational environments.
