PUTRAJAYA, Feb 5 (Bernama) -- The organisation of Anjung Syawal Putrajaya in conjunction with the Putrajaya Ramadan Festival 2026 (FRP2026) is expected to be a key attraction for Visit Malaysia Year (VMY2026), further strengthening Putrajaya’s position as an international destination for tourism, events, and culture.

Anjung Syawal FRP2026 Organising Manager, Muhammad Amin Noriman Azmi, said that total sales are targeted to reach RM40 million, with an aim to attract over one million visitors throughout the duration of the event, which stands as one of the largest Aidilfitri bazaars in the Klang Valley.

He added that Anjung Syawal not only provides an economic boost to traders but also serves as a high-impact tourism promotion platform featuring a blend of cultural, entertainment, entrepreneurial, and spiritual elements.

“Strategic cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, as well as Perbadanan Putrajaya, allows Anjung Syawal to support the VMY2026 initiative by offering local tourism products and tourist-friendly activities. We want to highlight the uniqueness and atmosphere of celebrating Ramadan and Aidilfitri in this country to tourists,” he said during a press conference here today.

Anjung Syawal, which is officially listed in the VMY2026 calendar through FRP2026 (organised by Perbadanan Putrajaya), will take place from Feb 18 to March 19 at Dataran Putrajaya, Presinct 3.

The Key attractions at Anjung Syawal FRP2026 include: Aidilfitri fashion shows and cultural performances designed to offer an event-based tourism experience, a primary focus on Islamic lectures (ceramah and tazkirah) featuring 31 speakers, including a special appearance by the Federal Territory Mufti, Ustaz Ahmad Fauwaz Fadzil, as well as renowned Islamic influencers such as Ustaz Syamsul Debat and Habib Ali Zainal Abidin.

Artistic performances and performances by famous nasyid groups, qasidah recitations, and Tadabbur Al-Quran sessions will round out the Ramadan experience.

These efforts align with the VMY2026 mission to showcase Malaysia's unique cultural and Islamic values as a major tourism draw.
