KOTA TINGGI, Feb 2 (Bernama) -- The Armed Forces Fund Board (LTAT), together with its group of companies, has completed its MADANI Adopted School programme involving RM1.3 million in contributions to 38 schools within Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) camps nationwide.
LTAT said the initiative is focused on improving learning environments for students, the majority of whom are children of MAF personnel, through infrastructure upgrades, digital enhancements and inclusive education support.
The milestone reflects the culmination of a nationwide initiative that has directly benefited more than 24,000 students, it added.
“With the completion of this phase, LTAT reaffirms its enduring commitment to safeguarding not only the socioeconomic future of MAF contributors but also the educational and social well-being of their families, fully aligned with the national aspirations of the MADANI framework,” the board said in a statement today.
The completion was marked today at Sekolah Kebangsaan Tanjung Pengelih and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Tanjung Pengelih, with the programme officiated by LTAT chief executive Mohammad Ashraf Md Radzi.
At the Tanjung Pengelih schools, the programme was coordinated by IRAT Hotels & Resorts Sdn Bhd (IRAT), a subsidiary of LTAT, with emphasis on Smart Classroom enhancements.
These included upgrades to learning infrastructure, digital teaching tools, classroom ergonomics and student-centred facilities at both schools.
LTAT said approximately RM100,000 was allocated to the two Tanjung Pengelih schools, covering classroom refurbishment, digital equipment, learning facilities and programme-related activities.
During the visit, Mohammad Ashraf also toured an Integrated Special Education classroom at SMK Tanjung Pengelih where he presented a mock cheque on behalf of IRAT, symbolising the contribution of four additional air-conditioning units to support students with special educational needs.
The initiative at the location was supported by Kem KD Sultan Ismail, with sponsorship provided by IRAT.
Kem KD Sultan Ismail Commanding Officer, Royal Malaysian Navy Capt Hazlan Hazumi and representatives from the Kota Tinggi District Education Office were also present at the event.
Mohammad Ashraf also shared that the completion of the MADANI Adopted School Programme across 38 schools reflects LTAT’s belief in providing conducive learning environments for the children of servicemen and women.
“When we invest in education, we invest in futures. This initiative is about building strong foundations of character, opportunity and hope, so that the children of those who protect our nation can dream bigger and go further,” he said.
The MADANI Adopted School initiative was launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on June 20, last year as part of a national effort to strengthen education, social well-being and community resilience.
