FAHMI DISTRIBUTES RM150 VOUCHERS, INTRODUCES RM1 AMBULANCE SERVICE IN LEMBAH PANTAI

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 7 (Bernama) -- Lembah Pantai MP Datuk Fahmi Fadzil today distributed RM150 vouchers for daily necessities to nearly 700 Chinese residents in the constituency in conjunction with Chinese New Year.

The Communications Minister said the aid was provided to recipients from the B40 and M40 groups to help ease their festive preparations.

“Alhamdulillah, today we are distributing vouchers to purchase daily necessities from two supermarkets in Lembah Pantai to nearly 700 people,” he told reporters at the Chinese New Year Open House for the parliamentary constituency at Taman Sri Sentosa Market here.

Fahmi also announced the launch of a RM1 community ambulance service under Pertubuhan Amal Uncle Kentang Malaysia for Lembah Pantai residents, particularly those from the B40 group.

“If they need ambulance services, they can contact my office. This is a community service effort to help residents in Lembah Pantai,” he said.

Earlier in his speech, Fahmi reminded those present to remain vigilant against online scams ahead of the festive season.

He said cybercriminals often take advantage when people begin withdrawing their savings for festive preparations.

“If you become a victim, immediately contact the National Scam Response Centre (NSRC) hotline at 997 within 30 minutes to allow the outflow of funds to be blocked,” he said.

Fahmi also advised the public to be cautious of messages sent via WhatsApp, SMS and social media, including investment offers that appear too good to be true.

He said the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has instructed telecommunications companies not to allow the transmission of SMS containing suspicious links to curb scam activities.
