SAMURAI PAINT SETS ASEAN, ASIA RECORDS WITH LARGEST AUTOMOTIVE AEROSOL SPRAYING EVENT

08/02/2026 10:35 PM

ISKANDAR PUTERI, Feb 8 (Bernama) -- SAMURAI Paint has entered the ASEAN and Asia record books after completing the region’s largest automotive aerosol spraying event, with 30 full car bodies spray-painted using aerosol cans in a single challenge.

The three-day event, held from Feb 6 to 8 at Sireh Park here, was officially recognised by Asia Records and ASEAN Records under the category ‘Highest Number of Full-Body Car Spray Paints Using Aerosol in a Single Event’.

The awards were presented by ASEAN Records and Asia Records directors Gillian Ooi and Eldrick Koh to the company’s chief executive officer Ian Ong Yoke En, service development senior executive Ahmad Faiz Roslani and assistant manager Samurai service and academy, Nurul Fateha Zainal during today’s Recognition Record Achiever Presentation by Asia Records ceremony.

Ong said the achievement marked a significant milestone for aerosol-based automotive finishing, an area traditionally dominated by compressor-driven spray systems in professional workshops.

He said the record validated years of research and development aimed at redefining conventional automotive painting methods.

“This recognition demonstrates that aerosol technology is capable of delivering durable, professional-grade full-body finishes at scale, while remaining accessible to automotive enthusiasts,” he said to Bernama at the event, today.

Unlike conventional industry demonstrations conducted by professional painters, the challenge involved DIY participants, reflecting the company’s focus on skills development and community engagement.

Comprehensive planning ensured each vehicle underwent the complete spray-painting process from surface preparation to finishing within the three-day timeframe in compliance with established procedures.

The successful completion of all 30 vehicles underscored the practicality of structured, aerosol-based workflows beyond traditional workshop environments.

The record attempt integrated Samurai’s 2K aerosol spray paint, patented Aero Gun and Tintatek colour-matching technology, highlighting improvements in precision, colour consistency and application efficiency.

Featuring a built-in two-component mechanism that enables paint and hardener to mix internally, Samurai 2K is designed to produce body-shop-level durability without specialised spray equipment, subject to proper preparation and ventilation.

In conjunction with the event, SAMURAI Paint planted 30 trees at Sireh Park here, reinforcing its commitment to environmental responsibility alongside technological advancement.

Ong said the Malaysia-hosted initiative is intended to serve as the foundation for a long-term annual programme, positioning the company as a regional benchmark in aerosol-based automotive finishing innovation.
