ALOR SETAR, Feb 21 (Bernama) — The Sultan of Kedah, Sultan Sallehuddin Sultan Badlishah, today graced the Royal Family Presentation Ceremony of the Sultan of Kedah and the breaking of fast event held at the Balai Santapan Besar, Istana Anak Bukit, here.
Also in attendance were the Raja Muda of Kedah, Tengku Sarafudin Badlishah Sultan Sallehuddin, and the Tunku Mahkota of Kedah, Tunku Shazuddin Ariff Sultan Sallehuddin.
Present were Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor, members of the State Executive Council and State Secretary Datuk Seri Norizan Khazali.
At the ceremony, Sultan Sallehuddin, together with the Raja Muda of Kedah and the Tunku Mahkota of Kedah, consented to present contributions symbolically to district officers in the form of food baskets for distribution to identified recipients.
In a statement, the Office of the Sultan of Kedah said a total of 1,200 food baskets involving 12 districts in the state will be channelled through the respective district offices beginning tomorrow for distribution to those in need.
“The event reflects the concern and continued commitment of the Kedah royal institution in reaching out to the people, particularly during the blessed month of Ramadan,” it said.
