MELAKA, Feb 22 (Bernama) -- Duyong assemblyman Mohd Noor Helmy Abdul Halem is targeting the distribution of 300 food aid kits throughout Ramadan under the Ziarah Kasih Programme to assist asnaf groups and families in need.
He said the initiative focuses on those who may have been overlooked previously, ensuring no resident in the Duyong state constituency is left out of receiving assistance. The programme is carried out in collaboration with various agencies.
Speaking after the presentation of Ramadan bazaar trading licences at Taman Semabok Perdana here today, he said preparations are also underway for the Aidilfitri open house at the constituency level, following a steady rise in attendance each year.
Meanwhile, a total of 270 Ramadan bazaar lots have been allocated at three locations in Duyong - 110 in Taman Semabok Perdana, 50 in Bukit Serindit and 110 in Taman Seri Duyong.
He said the bazaars provide opportunities not only for regular traders but also for daily and seasonal vendors seeking additional income, with feedback indicating that many traders are satisfied as their daily sales are fully sold out.
