KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 23 (Bernama) -- The Embassy of Malaysia in Paris is intensifying efforts to promote the Visit Perlis Year 2024-2026 through strategic engagement sessions with tourism agents in France.
Malaysia's Ambassador to France, Datuk Eldeen Husaini Mohd Hashim, said the initiative aims to introduce the state's various interesting destinations to the European market.
He said the initiative is being activated in tandem with the Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026) campaign, which is being actively promoted through the organisation of various prestigious events across France.
"For this year, I will switch the focus to emphasising each state, with an approach based on fashion diplomacy, such as batik, and food diplomacy, such as Perlis,” he told Bernama.
This covers hosting events like the Malaysia Food Festival and Malaysia Open Day, as well as the official reception featuring the country's unique arts, culture and heritage to the local community.
Eldeen Husaini said the embassy has started promoting VM2026 since last year through the hosting of various events involving influencers, the local media and French authorities.
"We also held a ceremony to launch the VM2026 last December, which was attended by guests from various sectors in France, and which featured Malaysian cultural dancers, fashion designers and food,” he added.
