KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 25 (Bernama) -- A total of 24,761 out of 251,392 candidates who sat for the 2025 Quran and Fardhu Ain Class Assessment Test (UPKK) recorded excellent results by obtaining an A in all nine subjects of the examination.
The subjects involved are Quran, Aqidah, Sirah, Adab, Jawi and Khat, Arabic, Ibadah, Penghayatan Cara Hidup Islam (PCHI) and Amali Solat.
Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs), Dr Zulkifli Hasan said the overall Grade Average Score (GPK) for the 2025 UPKK was 1.83 points compared to 1.85 points in the previous year.
"Of the total number of candidates who sat for all examination papers, the percentage of candidates who achieved an overall pass for the 2025 UPKK is 89.61 per cent," he said at the UPKK 2025 Results Announcement here today.
He said 25,230 candidates secured 8As, and 18,990 candidates managed to get 7As.
He said the number of registered candidates for 2025 rose to 252,997, reflecting growing demand for UPKK, an increase of 5.17 per cent compared to 240,244 candidates in 2024.
“The percentage of absent candidates also declined to 0.63 per cent, compared with 1.36 per cent in 2024. This shows greater parental awareness and the continued efforts of teachers to encourage students to sit for the UPKK,” he said.
A new UPKK format was introduced under the KAFA 2.0 Curriculum last year, where all subjects are now assessed through a Central Assessment component covering Quran, Akidah, Sirah, Adab, Jawi and Khat, Arabic and Ibadah, along with two Classroom Assessment components, namely PCHI and Amali Solat.
