KOTA KINABALU, Feb 25 (Bernama) -- Tenom is the latest district in Sabah to be hit by floods as of 8 pm following continuous rain since yesterday.
The Sabah disaster management committee secretariat said that flood victims are being evacuated to relief centres in Tenom and that the total number of evacuees in the state had dropped from 2,616 people this evening to 1,564 evacuees at 11 centres.
“There are currently 79 evacuees in Sook, 352 people in Sipitang, 395 people in Beaufort and 211 people in Membakut,” the secretariat said in a statement today.
A total of 140 villages in five districts are affected by the floods, they added.
Four districts - Membakut, Sipitang, Sook and Beaufort - were hit by floods this morning.
