KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 26 (Bernama) -- The government is strengthening efforts to ensure the price stability and guaranteed supply of essential goods in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan through the setting up of a Technical Working Group (TWC) on Price Stabilisation.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, in a Facebook post today, said the decision was taken during the first Price Stabilisation in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan Committee Meeting for 2026, which he chaired today.
He said the meeting discussed several important matters that would help achieve the targeted goals, thus ensuring the people's quality of life could be optimised as much as possible.
The meeting was attended by Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi; Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Datuk Amrizan Mohd Ali; Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Sabah and Sarawak) Datuk Mustapha Sakmud; Sabah Minister of Women, Health and Community Wellbeing Datuk Julita Mojungki; and Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Lo Su Fui.
Based on the previous meeting, the committee agreed to establish the Technical Working Group (TWC) on Price Stabilisation with the main aim of strengthening coordination between the Federal Government and state governments to address related issues.
The move was taken as part of the government's ongoing efforts to ensure the people in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan have access to sufficient essential items at stable prices.
