KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 27 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today honoured the seven young men who rescued a mother and her two young children in a recent accident at Tasik Biru, Kundang, during a breaking-of-fast event at Kompleks Seri Perdana.

In a Facebook post, Anwar described their actions of risking their own safety to save others as a reflection of noble humanity and a profound spirit of compassion.

“Such courage and concern should be recognised and serve as an example for the entire community,” he said.

The Prime Minister also presented tokens of appreciation in recognition of their bravery and service, emphasising that the seven youths are not only heroes to the family they saved but also symbols of moral excellence and the solidarity of Malaysians, always ready to help regardless of background.

The incident, which occurred on Monday, saw the seven rescuing a woman and her two daughters after their vehicle plunged into the lake.

The woman, in her 40s, and her daughters, aged three and six, were later sent to Sungai Buloh Hospital for treatment.
