KUALA LUMPUR, March 3 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) remains committed to strengthening its global competencies through the participation of four of its officers in the International Anti-Corruption Summer Academy (IACSA) 2026 programme.
MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki said this commitment was expressed during an online discussion with the Interim Dean of the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA), Drago Kos, who is based in Laxenburg, Austria, yesterday.
“Platforms such as IACSA provide a strategic avenue for enforcement officers from various countries to exchange views, share best practices, and enhance their understanding of new approaches in addressing increasingly complex and transnational corruption crimes,” he said in a statement today.
During the nearly one-hour discussion session, he said that IACA also invited MACC officers to participate in professional programmes offered as part of the institution’s ongoing capacity-building efforts.
Azam added that he is expected to attend the IACA Assembly of Parties (AoP) in October 2026, which serves as an important platform for member states to determine the organisation’s direction and policies.
“As a sign of continued support for the global anti-corruption education agenda, MACC has also expressed its readiness to assist IACA in securing funding support from the private sector to strengthen the sustainability of its training and education programmes,” he said.
He added that MACC, in principle, welcomes the proposal to establish an IACA regional office in Malaysia, subject to further consideration by the government.
