SULTAN NAZRIN RECEIVES RM5.67 MLN IN ZAKAT CONTRIBUTIONS FOR ZAPAR

IPOH, March 12 (Bernama) -- The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, today received zakat contributions totalling RM5,673,589.57 from eight corporate companies and three individuals for Zakat Perak Al-Ridzuan (ZAPAR).

ZAPAR, in a statement, said that the zakat payments were presented during a breaking of fast event with religious officers and imams at Istana Iskandariah in Kuala Kangsar tonight.

The zakat handover began with income zakat payments by Dr Ahmad Latiffi Muhammad Sidek, amounting to RM120,000, followed by Azim Radin Mustapha Amiruddin with a contribution of RM100,000.

This was followed by the presentation of business zakat from Azzizudin Sdn Bhd, represented by company secretary Norzita Rabaai, amounting to RM496,103.57, and Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad, represented by its chairman Tan Sri Dr Ismail Bakar, amounting to RM751,000.

Ismail, also as the chairman of KPJ Healthcare Berhad, contributed business zakat for the private healthcare services provider, amounting to RM1,386,000.

BBV Engineering (M) Sdn Bhd, represented by managing director Ahmad Shafuan Arifin, contributed business zakat totalling RM200,000 and Lumut Maritime Terminal Sdn Bhd, represented by chief executive officer Datuk Mubarak Ali Gulam Rasul, contributed RM1,138,486.

Also presenting business zakat was Pakeeza Restaurant & Catering, represented by its owner, Rizal Ali Naizali, amounting to RM150,000, followed by Dr Nurul Haizam Yahaya, who contributed RM310,000 in income zakat.

 Puncak Emas Infra Sdn Bhd, represented by chief executive officer Mesnor Bujang, contributed RM850,000 in business zakat, while Zaman Motors Sdn Bhd, represented by its director Datuk Khadri Khalid, contributed RM172,000.

Sultan Nazrin later presented the zakat contributions to Perak Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPk) president, Tan Sri Mohd Annuar Zaini.
